Bye-bye Exchange students! Hello free time!

Hey Guys!

We are after a very very very very ... very tireing week! We had some German exchange students from Gerlingen, and we had to show them the whole wonderful city where we live! It's not a surprise that they liked it a lot! Now that they're on their way back to Germany we have some time to rest, and then we will go to see the awesome place where they live! We can't wait for that, but first of all before we begin this crazy party-week again we must rest and sleep a lot!

Just some of the all the cool things we did this week:

  • Ship tour on the Danube
  • Two days by the lake Balaton
  • Song writing for our guests

Raspberry & white chocolate traybake

Raspberry & white chocolate traybake

Something to try on the weekend!

Ingredients

  • 375g pack ready-rolled shortcrust pastry
  • 500g mascarpone
  • 100g golden caster sugar
  • 100g ground almonds
  • 2 large eggs
  • 250g fresh raspberries
  • 100g white chocolate, roughly chopped
Method
Heat oven to 160c/fan 140c/gas 4. roll out the pastry a little more on a floured surface and use to line a 30 x 20cm tin, or a Swiss roll tin. Line with greaseproof paper, fill with baking beans and cook for 10 mins. Take out the beans and paper, then return to the oven for a further 5 mins.
Whisk together the mascarpone, sugar, almonds and eggs until well blended. Fold in the raspberries and chocolate, then pour into the tin. Bake for 20-25 mins until just set and lightly golden. Turn off the oven, open the door and leave the tray bake to cool gradually. For the best results, chill for at least 1 hr before slicing.

Crazy and Wilde party games!

ID Knee

Consenting adults play this game. Guests take turns in the different roles. First, the women sit or stand with their knees exposed. The men, blindfolded, have to identify the women in the room simply by touching their knees. When the men are finished identifying the women, roles are reversed. The player with the most knee IDs wins. This game is best played among very good friends.

Clothesline

Clothesline is for consenting and wild adults only. Break guests into two teams. The teams alternate removing an article of clothing and placing it on the floor between the two teams. The alternating goes back and forth, with each person who is next in line removing an article of clothing. The game stops when no one else is willing to remove an article of clothing. The team with the longest line of clothing wins.

Blindfolded Banana Feast

Guests should split into couples for this game. Blindfold the couples, give one of them a banana and have the other get on his knees. Have someone spin the one with the banana two or three times to make her dizzy. The standing blindfolded partner tries feeding the banana to the one kneeling. The person on his knees is not allowed to move. The first couple to dispose of the banana wins the game.

Cherries and Whipped Cream Hunt

Place a cherry, strawberries, or the fruit of your choice in a large bowl on a table in front of each guest. Fill the bowl with whipped cream and tell your guests to find the fruit in the bowl. Rules are simple. Your guests can't use their hands to find the fruit. They have to use their tongues. The first guest to find all the fruit is the winner and ends up with a face full of whipped cream. This is a messy, fun game for everybody.

Murder in Dark

To play Murder in the Dark, you must have at least five people. Cut as many strips of paper as you have participants. Place a black dot on one piece of paper, fold them all and place them in a hat. Have each person draw out a piece of paper and inspect it secretly. Whomever draws the paper with the dot is the murderer. Once each person has examined their paper, have everyone sit in a circle and hold hands. Turn out the lights, and have the murderer squeeze the hand of the person to his left a certain number of times. That person must then squeeze the hand of the person to his left one less time than the squeeze he received. Whomever gets squeezed only once "dies." He can be as flamboyant about this as possible. Once the person has died, he leaves the circle, and the murderer starts the squeeze again. Anyone may try guessing the murderer's identity, but a correct guesser also dies.

Poem of the week

Do not stand at my grave and weep
by Mary Elizabeth Frye

Do not stand at my grave and weep:
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starshine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry:
I am not there; I did not die.
